Join Haymarket Books for Chicago Conversations: the fight for Housing Justice! This is the third event in our four-part public discussion series on Chicago’s left political landscape and movement. We’ll be talking about ongoing challenges to house newly arrived migrants, the Bring Chicago Home campaign working to secure sustainable funding to combat homelessness, fights to mitigate the harm of ongoing displacement of Chicago’s Black residents and a vision for how it all fits together.
We’ll be joined by Angela Clay Alderwoman of the 46th Ward, Xanat Sobrevilla of Organized Communities Against Deportations, Wayne Richard of the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, and Dixon Romeo of Not Me We & the Obama Community Benefits Agreement coalition. The conversation will be moderated by Asha Ransby-Sporn.
This event will take place at Haymarket House (800 W Buena Ave. Chicago).
***This in person event will be live-streamed through Haymarket Books. Register through Ticket Tailor to receive a link to the video conference on the day of the event. We ask that all in-person attendees wear masks in the event space during the program for the health and well-being of the speaker and other guests. We will have a reception afterwards with light refreshments.***
